Eligibility Criteria for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) Examination
To be eligible for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) exam, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Gender: Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the MNS course.
- Nationality: An applicant must be an Indian national to apply for the MNS course.
- Educational Qualification: The applicants must have passed the 10+2 (12th) or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized board with at least 50% aggregate marks.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year of their higher secondary can also apply for the Military Nursing Service. Candidates must also provide their passing certificate before the commencement of their training period. - Age limit: The applicants must be between 17 to 25 years of age at the time of application.
- Marital status: The applicants must be unmarried, divorced, legally separated, or a widow
- Physical standards: The minimum height required for entry into the Armed Forces is 152 cm, but candidates from Hill and Northeastern States will be accepted with a minimum height of 147 cm.
NEET Examination Pattern
NEET is a mandatory examination when you are opting for MNS, and below is the exam pattern for NEET mentioned for your reference:

- Section B consists of 15 questions, and candidates need to answer only 10 questions.
- Each question carries four marks and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
MNS Exam Pattern (To GIGE)
Following NEET, an 80-mark test of general intelligence and general English (to GIGE) will be conducted. Only NEET-qualified candidates will be able to appear in this test. The questions will carry objective questions from General Intelligence and General English, carrying a total of 80 marks.
An Objective-type Psychological Assessment Test (PAT)
The PAT, or psychological assessment test, is a component of the MNS selection process. It is a qualifying exam, and the results won’t be taken into account for creating the final merit list. Assessments are thought to represent individual or group variations in the concept the test is intended to examine.
The Interview Round
After the completion of the computer-based test, the interview is the next round of the selection process for the MNS exam. The interview round conducted by the board members, consisting of officers of the Indian Armed Forces. The interview round plays a vital role in the overall proficiency assessment of an aspirant.
