Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the NDA 2025 eligibility criteria. According to NDA eligibility criteria, female and male candidates who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent can apply for the exam. Both unmarried male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the NDA 2025 exam.
According to NDA 2 eligibility, candidates must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2006, and not later than July 1, 2009.
The eligibility highlights certain parameters in terms of NDA age limit, educational qualification, and physical & medical standards.
Candidates applying for the exam must read NDA eligibility to ascertain whether they are eligible for the exam or not. Candidature of candidates might get canceled at any stage of the recruitment process if they do not fulfill NDA exam eligibility. Who can apply for an NDA exam?
The NDA application form is released to select candidates for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy. Both male and female candidates can apply for the NDA exam. The eligibility criteria for the NDA exam is given below:
Age Limit:
- For the NDA 1 exam, both male and female candidates must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2006, and not later than July 1, 2009.
- For the NDA 2 exam, both male and female candidates must have been born not earlier than January 2, 2007, and not later than January 1, 2010.
Educational Qualification:
- Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Passed Class 12/HSC or equivalent from a recognized board or university
- Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy: Passed Class 12/HSC with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Is there any minimum qualifying marks in the NDA exam?
Yes, candidates need to secure 20 to 25 percent in each subject of the NDA exam. Besides, candidates need to secure the NDA cut-off separately in the written exam and qualifying marks. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 900, the GAT section carries 600 marks and the Mathematics section carries 300 marks. The SSB Interview carries 900 marks.
I am a medical student. Can I apply for the NDA exam?
Yes, medical students are eligible to apply for the NDA exam, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria.
NDA 1 Eligibility 2025
Only Indian nationals both female and male candidates can apply for NDA 1 2025. Candidates must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2006, and not later than July 1, 2009, are eligible for the exam. The date of birth is accepted by the commission as entered in the matriculation or secondary school leaving certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to matriculation.
Candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for the Army wing of NDA. Those who have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics can apply for Air Force and Naval wings of NDA. Candidates who are appearing in the Class 12 can also apply. Such candidates who qualify the SSB interview but could not produce Class 10/12 or equivalent certificate in original at the time of SSB interview should forward duly self-attested photocopies to ‘Directorate General of Recruiting, Army HQ, West Block III, RK Puram, New Delhi-110066’ and for Naval Academy candidates to ‘Naval Headquarters, DMPR, OI&R Section, Room No. 204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhavan, New Delhi-110011’.
NDA 2 Eligibility 2025
NDA 2 eligibility 2025 is one of the key considerations when applying for the exam. Applicants must meet the qualifying criteria or else their applications will be rejected. After determining NDA 2 eligibility 2025, both male and female candidates can apply for the exam.
NDA 2 Age Limit: Candidates who are born not earlier than January 2, 2007, or later than January 1, 2010, are eligible to apply for the exam.
For the Army Wing of NDA, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized state education board or university. For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The eligibility criteria for the NDA exam are as follows:
Age: Candidates must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age on the first day of the month in which the course is scheduled to begin. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. Medical students who have completed their 10+2 with Science subjects are also eligible to apply.
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, or subject of Bhutan, Nepal, or Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India.
Marital status: Candidates must be unmarried.
Physical standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards. So, if you meet the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, you can apply for the NDA exam.
National Defence Academy exam or NDA exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for the Indian Armed Forces, where selected candidates of all three services, Navy and Air Force undergo training before pre-commissioning training in the respective academies. Union Public Service Commission conducts NDA twice a year-April and September to select male and female candidates for various defence services. Candidates qualifying for the written exam are called for SSB Interview.
